Privacy Policy — Chess Kingdoms: 3D Battle

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Chess Kingdoms: 3D Battle (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is published by Ashutosh Tripathi. This policy explains what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little. Short version: the app collects no personal data. When your device is online, it makes one small, anonymous check with our server to find out whether an update is required or the game has been temporarily switched off. That check carries nothing about you, and we store nothing about you.

The app collects no personal data

The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics. It sends no information about you to us or to anyone else. The only network request it makes is the update and status check described below, which contains no personal data and no identifiers. We keep no record of you, your device or your games. The Android update check through Google Play, also described below, involves no data about you either.

The app works offline

Everything in the game runs on your device, and it is fully playable with no connection at all. On Android the app requests internet access so that it can make the update and status check below. It requests no permission to reach your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or any other personal data. On iOS it declares no data collection and no tracking in its privacy manifest.

Update checks

The app can check in two ways whether you need a newer version, or whether the game is available:

Our update and status check (Android, iOS and web). When the game starts or comes back to the foreground and your device is online, it sends one request to our server. The request contains only:

It carries no account, no device or advertising identifier and no personal data. The server replies with the oldest version the game still supports and whether the game has been temporarily switched off (for example while a serious problem is fixed). The reply is digitally signed, and the game ignores any reply whose signature does not check out. If the request fails, or there is no connection, the game simply carries on.

What our server keeps. Nothing about you or your games. Like any web server, it handles each request and forgets it. Its access log records the request line, with the random value replaced by “[REDACTED]”. As with any web request, the connecting IP address is recorded by our hosting provider (Railway). These logs are kept only in the hosting provider’s standard, short-lived logs, and they are not used to identify or track anyone. To protect the service from abuse, the server also holds the IP address in memory for up to one minute to limit how often it can be called. It is never written to a database.

Google Play’s update check (Android only). When the Android version starts, it also asks the Google Play Store app on your device whether a newer version of the game is available, using Google Play’s in-app update service. This request goes from the game to the Play Store app on your device, not to our server, and carries no personal data: the Play Store app answers it as part of its normal update service, under Google’s own privacy policy. If an update is available or required, the game can open Google Play’s update screen or the game’s store listing, and Google Play downloads and installs it. The iOS and web versions do not use Google Play’s check.

What is stored on your device

To work as a game, the app saves the following on your device only:

This information stays in the app’s private storage. It is not uploaded, not shared and not readable by other apps. Deleting the app deletes all of it. On Android, automatic cloud backup of the app’s data is switched off, so this data is not copied to any backup service.

Sharing that only happens because you ask

Apart from the update and status check above, the app has two features that hand data to another app you choose:

Nothing is sent unless you tap one of those buttons and choose where it goes. What happens to the data afterwards is governed by the app or service you chose.

The web version

The browser version stores the same settings and saved games in your browser’s local storage. It is served as static files and, after the first visit, runs from your browser’s cache with no connection. When your browser is online it makes the same update and status check described above. The site sets no cookies, has no analytics and no third-party scripts.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Your rights

We hold no account, profile or other data about you, so there is nothing for us to give you a copy of, correct or delete. The hosting provider’s short-lived access logs expire on their own. Data stored on your device is under your control: clear the app’s storage or uninstall it, and it is gone.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what it does with information, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the “Last updated” date above will change.
