Inkly AI collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your notes, tasks, reminders and tags are encrypted and stored only on your device. The app makes no network requests at all unless you personally choose to add your own Anthropic API key to unlock the optional cloud writing tools, which is off by default and explained in section 4.
None. We operate no server for this app, hold no database of users, and receive nothing from your device. There is no sign-up, no login and no user identifier. We do not know who you are, what you write, or that you installed the app.
Everything you create lives in an encrypted database in the app's private storage:
The database is encrypted with AES-256. The encryption key is generated on your device the first time you open the app and is stored in the Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain, marked so that it never leaves the device and is never included in a cloud or device-to-device backup. The key exists nowhere else. We do not have a copy and cannot recover your notes.
Your PIN is never stored. The app keeps only a salted digest of it, hashed over 20,000 rounds, held in the same secure system storage as the encryption key. A digest cannot be turned back into your PIN.
If you enable fingerprint or face unlock, that check is performed entirely by your operating system. The app is told only whether the check succeeded. Your biometric data never reaches the app, and it never reaches us.
Because we hold nothing, there is no "forgot PIN" flow and no way for us to unlock the app for you. If you enable the optional panic-wipe setting, the data is erased permanently after the number of wrong attempts you choose.
Inkly AI's smart tools — summaries, suggested titles and tags, action-item detection, date detection and text clean-up — all run on your device. They work in aeroplane mode and send nothing anywhere.
Separately, Settings lets you paste your own Anthropic (Claude) API key to enable cloud writing tools and a chat assistant. This is entirely optional and is off unless you add a key.

The key is stored in your device's secure keystore, is never sent anywhere except to Anthropic as the request's authorisation, and is never logged or displayed after you save it. It never passes through any server of ours, because we do not run one. You can remove the key at any time in Settings, which immediately returns the app to fully offline operation.
Backups are only ever produced when you ask for one. You choose the format:
A backup is handed to whichever app you pick in your device's share sheet. From that moment it is governed by that app's privacy policy, not this one.

We do not share, sell, rent or trade your information, because we never receive any. There are no third-party SDKs in the app, no data brokers, no advertisers and no analytics providers. The only outbound connection the app can ever make is the one you enable yourself in section 4.

There is nothing to request from us, because we hold nothing to delete.
If a future version of Inkly AI changes anything that affects privacy, we will update this policy, revise the effective date above and describe the change plainly. The core commitment will not change: Inkly AI is an offline app, and your notes are yours alone.
